Exercising outdoors gives you a blank canvas to be creative and test your body, strength and fitness in new ways.

Spring semester gives you the best excuse to leave your gym pass at home and enjoy a great workout and the weather outside. Fitness doesn’t have to start and end at the door of the gym. Exercising outside when the weather is nice is a great way to increase your activity level and stay fit. Here are the main reasons that will require you to get out of indoor places and throw yourself into the open air…

1. Diversify your workouts

Simple things like walking instead of taking the bus, taking the dog for a walk before or after work, looking around for lunch, or going for a jog after you get home make an immediate difference in your body. Be determined to walk a few miles each day and track your steps with a smart fitness app, or buy a bike and make commuting a workout. If you are planning weekend activities with family or friends, instead of focusing on food and drink (bars and restaurants), plan outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking, squash, soccer or tennis.
