Didem Ellialtı creates designs that say I am here with her newly created brand Di Project. - Who was the woman you imagined while preparing the collection? What was he like? Can we see him often on the street?
I can say that I set out to save the metropolitan women, who run from place to place, produce all the time and have to manage crises rapidly, from the thought of “what to wear”. A tights can be worn like a T-shirt; I wanted to show that there are comfortable options that will quickly provide elegance and at the same time.
2. What does fashion mean to you?
I strongly believe in the power of dressing, that what you choose transforms you and gives you an identity. One’s own personal process also reveals tastes and choices. I am a graduate of the New York actor studio Lee Strasberg conservatory. For this reason, there is always a continuity of style and character in my collections. In my sense of fashion, there is a character that feeds on each other but always says the same sentence.
3. What is the highlight of your designs?
In my collection, jackets and trousers, the patterns of which were studied very well, draw attention. Unreal pythron and foal feathers are among the details I love.
4. How would you describe your brand?
Leather brands are exaggeratedly very expensive not only in the world but also in our country. I wanted to show that it is possible to be on sale at an average price by using quality and stretch leather.
5. What has been the most important investment you have made in your business so far?
Di Project has been a field for me where I took energy back a lot of things I had given in other fields until today.
6. What are your future plans?
Of course, I would like to be in the department stores in Europe, not just the New York, LA Showroom… If I’m lucky enough to attract the right investors, why not? Rather than your plans, my dreams are moving in this direction.
7. What are the must-haves in our closet this season?
Leather will maintain its dominance at the end of winter with different color alternatives this season as well. Dark green is my favorite color in the leather jacket this season; I also love open coral.
8. Where can we find your designs? What is the price range?
My products are sold on my own online site. In the same way, my products can be seen in my PR Showroom called Di Fashion Branding in Nişantaşı. Apart from that, Kanyon Harvey Nichols, Nişantaşı, Ankara and Adana Bramdroom, Emaar Galeries Lafeytte, Nişantaşı Openhaus are my sales points that I love to work with and think we fit together very well. Knitwear designs start from 350 liras, prices in the leather group go up to 4500 liras.
